Artists Biography: Chuck Fenda

Chuck Fender was born Leshorn Whitehead June 15, 1972 in Brooklyn New York He has always had a special love for music a hobby to mimic some of his favorite entertainer as a young man, it did not take him long to decide to follow their dream in music business

Often traveling between Jamaica and New York to hone his deejaying skills, he spent most of his time at King jammy’s studio, where he released his debut single “Shut your mouth when Yuh Bad Man Talking ‘on the tight clothes riddim for John John (King jammy son), he followed that up with ‘The Glue’

impressed Producer King jammy with DJ’s talent and invited him to record on his label, it was when he recorded his first big hit ‘Jah It’s All About You “& # 8217 , p?? a drop Money Money riddim released in 1996 the single climbed several charts in Jamaica and throughout the Caribbean video for the song got regular rotation on all the most popular programs, music video

Shortly after Chuck Fenda began recording for several producers, including Shocking Vibes where he did ” Fat Round Yah ‘

In 1997, Fender decided to relocate to Jamaica to focus on her career to stay at King jammy studio and working hard to establish itself as a strong force in dancehall

In 1998 he recorded his next big hit “Mi See clearly ‘(Rat Race) on the joint riddim But his biggest hit was yet to come, the only “Bada Bada” made it the largest compartment on the Jamaican charts and in the top ten on various Caribbean charts “Bada Bada ‘was a staple in the dancehall and was on the daily play list several radio disc jockeys Engineers Ward 21 jammy studio created a riddim of the same name who played many dancehall favorites

Chuck Fenda was on a roll and he began to squirt out more dancehall hits like “Right now” on Ticks riddim then “lift” on the popular Bellys riddim with a video that created a buzz

His songs were in regular rotation on the air while he stayed in the public eye ‘mash up’ nuff scene materials

Year 2000 he joined the Fifth Element Records family where the real revolution began to take place in the DJ lives his five-year stint Fifth Element led to a noticeable change and a refreshing maturity

Embracing the Rastafarian way of life Chuck Fenda adopted “barrelexceeded defenders cause and focused on creating intimate texts on the situation of the poor while revealing his Afromantic side of the beautiful texts he wrote glorify the black woman

He was known for songs such as the number one “Life Ruff Out Deh” Better Days “and “I Swear” and “Prayer” Can not Stop Try “” Respect Mama “Stick To One Man ‘Bun The Fire Red”How Do You Feel” and “Watching Me” to name a few all part of his explosive impressive album “Better Days” on the Fifth Element label that dropped in 2004

Today Fender is even more conscious of the need of the Oppressed in this country has one vote fight for their cause – and he has promised to be the voice in both word and deed

His personal goal is to take young people off the streets know that ifHe can change even a youth through his songs, then there is hope

Through his record company Living Fire Records poor Defender intends to make a powerful impact on the international scene through his songs and performances of young protégés Chuck Fenda has consolidated itself as one of the few which will play a major role in the revolution of the Jamaican music worldwide
